ParkPin ("we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application and Wear OS companion app handle your information when you use ParkPin.
2. Data Collection and Usage
ParkPin operates with a privacy-first approach:
- Location Data: The app requests access to your device's GPS and location services solely to determine and pin your parked vehicle location, calculate navigation routes back to your car, and update live location widgets. Location data is processed locally on your device.
- Local Storage: Your vehicle preferences, saved parking coordinates, elapsed parking timers, and backup files are saved locally using device storage.
- Wear OS Synchronization: When paired, parking coordinates and vehicle information are transferred securely between your phone and smartwatch using Google Play Services Wearable Data Layer API.
3. Third-Party Services & Advertising
ParkPin integrates standard third-party services provided by Google to support app functionality, analytics, and monetization:
- Google Play Services: Enables Wear OS connectivity, Google Maps navigation intents, and location APIs.
- Google AdMob: Displays banner and interstitial advertisements in the non-premium version of the phone app. AdMob may collect pseudonymous device identifiers (Ad ID) to serve personalized or non-personalized ads.
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP): Manages GDPR and CCPA user consent preferences for advertising.
- Google Play Billing: Processes subscription and in-app purchases securely via Google Play. We do not store or process your financial payment details.
4. Data Security & Storage
Because your location history is kept within local database storage on your device, your data is protected by Android's application sandboxing. You can clear your parking history or vehicle data at any time from within the app settings.
5. Your Rights & Choices
- Location Permissions: You can grant or revoke location access at any time through your device System Settings.
- Ad Consent: You can manage or revoke your ad personalization consent anytime via the app settings.
- Data Deletion: Deleting the app or executing a database clear inside Settings removes all stored parking data immediately.
